Why “Primitive” Baptist?
The word “primitive” has some negative connotations in its modern usage. The term simply means “original” and was first applied to Baptists in the early 1800’s to identify those that held to the earliest apostolic traditions. We still hold to the simple pattern of worship that is found in the Word of God, which is our only rule of faith and practice. Simple, Christ-centered, New Testament Christianity.
