Elder Nathan A. Pitney
May 20, 1971 - Present
Bro. Nathan was born into a home where Christ was honoured and where he was taught the Holy Scriptures from a very early age. He was the first born son in a family of 7 children which includes 5 sisters and 1 brother. He was converted to Christ at the tender age of 12 and was baptized in a muddy creek close to Ozias P. B. Church by Elder Jerry Hunt, Sr. He had a desire to speak in the name of Christ even as a young teenager and became very interested in the Bible and God's Church. After high school he played basketball for Toccoa Falls Christian College and pursued a degree in education. He changed courses after his sophomore year and married his childhood sweetheart (Regina) and began teaching and coaching at a small Christian school in Georgia. It was during these years he began to feel the call to public ministry and developed
an insatiable appetite for God's Word. He was ordained as an Elder in the Primitive Baptist Church and began serving as an assistant pastor at Fellowship P. B. Church. After several years he and Regina moved to Mississippi where he completed his college degree at Blue Mountain College and began to serve as pastor of Pine Hill P. B. Church. Bro. Nathan served there for 4 years. It was during these years that he began to do overseas evangelism in both the Philippines and Africa. He also taught for 3 years at Ripley Christian School and built a home in Falkner, Mississippi. In 2003 Bro. Nathan's family (Regina, Drew, Larissa, and Mary Reece) and the McCoy family began to meet in their homes on Sunday and Wednesday nights to have Bible studies and to seek God's will and favor to start a church in Falkner. It was not long until God had answered their prayers and blessed them to constitute Providence P. B. Church where Bro. Nathan is now pastor/evangelist. Bro. Nathan believes in Christ-centered Bible teaching, evangelism, and ministry. He desires to give his life for the Glory of God and the good of His people. He loves to counsel those in need and seeks to develop the spiritual gifts of all the laity to their full potential. He is humbled by God's grace in his life and knows what it feels like to fail, repent, and try again. He is looking for the 2nd Coming of Christ and wants His Master to find him busy in service until He returns!!! Soli Deo Gloria.
